NORRIE MacIVER - MONDAY 20 MAY, 8 pm

Norrie "Tago" MacIver is a singer/songwriter from Carloway in the Isle of Lewis. In 2010 Norrie became the lead singer of Manran who made a name for themselves by releasing the single Latha Math, which was written by Norrie himself. In December 2015, Norrie decided to leave Manran to focus on other projects and to have time for his solo career. In February 2016, Norrie joined Skipinnish as their new lead singer, and has since written songs for and performed with the Glasgow Barons community orchestra.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF EWAN MacCOLL - Monday 17 June, 8 pm

with Bob Fox, Jez Lowe and Julie Matthews

A concert of songs and spoken word commissioned and broadcast by BBC Radio 2 inspired by the original ground-breaking

Radio Ballads of Ewan MacColl, Peggy Seeger and Charles Parker.

RUM RAGGED - MONDAY 22 JULY, 8 pm

Rum Ragged take a bold approach to the distinct folk music of their home, the Eastern Canadian island of Newfoundland.  Boasting bouzouki, fiddle, bodhran, banjo, guitar, and button accordion, these new champions of East Coast music enliven and enlighten audiences with their signature brand of Newfoundland folk. Always honest, thought-provoking, and often humorous, it’s Rum Ragged’s live show that makes them a fast favourite with any audience. Their combination of striking vocal harmonies, staggering musicianship, and captivating storytelling gives concert-goers an experience they won’t soon forget.
